This 3-day course for hands-on practitioners will be taught by Dianne Woodruff, CMA, PhD at the Body-in-Motion Studio, 321 Kerr St. Oakville, ON. Participants need a working knowledge of human anatomy. CEUs: Approved for 9 CEUs in category A by College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
You will learn:
- the anatomy of fascia and its various forms
- embryology, physics and physiology of fascia
- how fascia behaves when traumatized
- creating and recognizing a fascial release
- about fascia and pain
- using palpation to assess and map injured tissue
- positioning client and practitioner for specific treatment problems
- using movement to test for and integrate change
- how to treat your own minor injuries and bruising
- current research update and references for further reading and study
Course dates: 17-19 October 2008, 10-5 daily.
Tuition: $450 + GST before 1 October 2008. After this date, $480 + GST.
