Insurance coverage for treatment
The topic of insurance coverage is one I often speak about with my clients.
In the province of Ontario, treatments by “regulated health professionals” are frequently covered under group insurance plans. In these tough economic times, this coverage, even if it is only partial coverage, is important. My treatments are not covered because I am in the alternative rather than the regulated stream. However, if your family physician writes you a prescription for my treatment or exercise therapy, you may submit that prescription and the receipts with your tax return.
The treatments then become an allowable medical expense.
